Overview of Decor
The décor of Blackwall Hitch conveys an upscale look with a handcrafted vibe that is urban chic and modern with a casual, nautical twist. The energy-filled environment has the feel of an old, industrial shipyard with elements of elegance that includes Quartz flooring in the foyer, cedar-wrapped walls, reclaimed and restored tables and chairs, antique elements, and replica Edison lighting.

The Captain’s Quarters
The Captain’s Quarters is a private room with floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Dockside Patio and Alexandria Waterfront. The room is set with three rectangular farmhouse dining tables and are matched with reclaimed and restored chairs. The white painted cedar-wrapped walls provide a perfect backdrop to the nautical art displayed and contrasts beautifully with the dark chocolate wood flooring. With plenty of natural light beaming into the room and strands of Edison lights that criss-cross the tables, the room brings to mind images of a garden patio party complete with fresh flowers accenting every table.
The Crow’s Nest
The Crow’s Nest is perched high above the main floor of the restaurant offering stunning vistas of the Potomac River and a birds-eye view of the entire restaurant below. The space boosts a full bar and soft, leather sectional sofas and plenty of dining tables around the perimeter. Perfect for receptions both business and social.
The Bridge
Overlooking the docks at the Waterfront, The Bridge is a semi-private space that can accommodate up to 50 people for a seated event, 60 people for cocktail style. Floor to ceiling windows brings the outside in as you take in the stunning views of the Potomac while you dine. The room is filled with unique metallic tables where no two tabletops look the same and paired with luxurious leather chairs allowing you to settle in for an exceptional meal in great comfort.
The King’s Room
With décor much like The Bridge, The Kings Room also seats up to 100 people but can include the Oyster Bar and two King’s Tables for larger groups. Can also accommodate up to 150 for a cocktail style event. This semi-private space overlooks the Potomac Patio and the north end of the river.
The Potomac Patio
The Potomac Patio displays breathtaking views of the river from every seat. Set with a mix of patio tables and lounge dining that includes fire-pit coffee tables that light up the night with beauty and warmth, guests will enjoy al fresco dining on the best patio in town. Complete with a private patio bar and plenty of space to mingle and enjoy the view. Accomodates 130 seated, 200 cocktail style. Limited availability.
The Dockside Patio
Situated adjacent to the Alexandria boardwalk, our Dockside Patio is the perfect oasis for tourists and townies alike! Compete with patio-style seating, a private “tiki-style” bar, and a cozy covered dining area, the Dockside Patio is just steps from all the action the boardwalk has to offer. Thinking of taking a day cruise on the Potomac? The Dockside Patio is a great place to plan for a cool drink or quick bite with friends. Accomodates 50 seated, 75 cocktail style.
